Strong headstrong main characters, a story that is thought through and a lot of twists and turns, but also fun, humor and laughter.The book pictures a time where a woman had her place and was not to speak up. Needless to say that Annyn is nothing far from that. You really felt compassion for her and winced when he trained her to make a man out of her. And then you wanted to know what happened to all of them, why they were in this situation and slowly it was revealed.When you like historical with strong characters, that is your book.The only point that I, personally, did not quite favor, had been the religious parts of the book. I know that religion had been a big part back then, but the dialogues and prayers were not my cup of tea. But it won’t keep me from reading the other ones.
I think the story had a really good premise. The hero is likable while the heroin is rather boring. I feel that the story was not fully developed, the plot a wasted opportunity. There is not enough romance to convince me that they fell in love. Overall a rather disappointing story. Not a great romance novel.
